As a result, you can’t see your meters correctly, and can easily miss what would amount to a drop-in on a real course. Due to the way the game fits on the screen, putts of two feet or fewer seem to make the engine go a little wonky and get squished off the screen. When you do miss just short of the basket, though, is the game’s biggest shortcoming that I hope will be addressed. This ensures that you don’t low putt and clang off the basket, and more often than not will leave you smashing the chains.

Much like actual disc golf, the putting on this game is the trickiest part, but I do have a pro tip for new users - when trying to hit any putt, touch the power meter a little higher than the distance it says it is to the hole. (That’s not to say my wife hasn’t heard me cursing at the screen a few times when I have missed a gimme putt.) Using familiar speed-glide-stability ratings, I was able to play with animal-named plastic like Antelope (driver), Manatee (mid-range) and the aptly-named Sloth (putter). Recently released by software company Nuclear Nova, Disc Golf 3D is available for download for Apple platforms and, for this disc golf junkie, was easy to get hooked on. I don't really think we want to see that happen because I think it will disrupt the disc market, but I think people just want to have fun making their own discs and playing with them.Nuclear Nova’s newest game - Disc Golf 3D. It would cost much less for new businesses to get in the game if this technology was advanced to a point that we could get the same quality as an injection molded golf disc. I think the interest in 3D printing (or similar) is focused on the fact that you don't have to spend so much money designing a mold and then having to make another mold if you want to tweak it. don't see a lot of home made bags, even though it would be cheaper and the technology exists you can take the time and materials and sew up a pretty sweet bag.
DX discs are about $4 each from Innova, and they are making a good profit margin selling them to the shops. you may be able to make them for your self cheaper, but trying to make and sell for a profit would be very difficult, as injection molding is soo cheap. It may be possible in the future, however the cost will be the question. Yeah you can do it at home, but the photo paper alone costs more. and then I'm gonna print nothing but Epics.Ĭost to get a commercial photo print - 9 cents. I don't think we'll be waiting forever for 3D printer tech to advance in resolution and materials. we used to have dot matrix printers and now we can print photographs. I was likening it to our current printers.
